9 Things You Should Never Carry With Your Baby While Travelling

Even if you consider yourself a master of minimal packing and often travel with just carry-on baggage, travelling with children indeed changes you. Although babies seem to need many things, we suggest just packing the infant travel necessities you know you’ll need.

While it may be tempting to bring every best baby travel product just in case, you will most likely regret having to carry so much. It may take some trial and error to precisely determine what you need and what you don’t need to travel with your baby.

Today, I’m going to cover only one aspect of travelling with your baby. So, before Googling’ baby shop near me, hear me out and don’t carry these 9 things while travelling with your infant.

#1. Don’t Bring a Large Stroller.

They’re difficult to get into and out of a tiny rental vehicle and almost impossible to hoist while you’re juggling a baby and baggage (don’t even attempt to fold it!).

#2. Don’t Bring a Large Car Seat with You.

A large, hefty car seat makes it difficult to carry an infant while dealing with baggage, and it’s much more difficult to rush through the airport to meet your flight! Furthermore, car seats may be damaged while travelling.

#3. Don’t Take Cloth Diapers with You.

Although cloth diapers are environmentally beneficial, don’t feel guilty if you don’t want to deal with them when travelling. They add a lot of additional work to your plate, and you’ll be busy enough travelling with a baby.

#4. Don’t Bring Heavy Toys with You.

When you’re travelling, there’s no need to bring your baby’s heaviest toys with you. Instead, bring their lightweight toys, and you can always purchase a few new toys when you get there for extra fun!

#5. Do Not Pack an Excess of Blankets.

It’s easy to get caught up in the idea of bringing a ton of additional blankets “just in case.” Don’t do it. Instead, opt for a sleep sack, which is more convenient and stays in place on its own. Bringing additional blankets can add weight, bulk, and washing to your load!

#6. Do Not Bring Heavy Baby Books with You.

Perhaps you’d want to utilize your vacation time to catch up on some reading, but now is not the time to tackle that 500-page tome on everything you’re doing wrong as a parent. Instead, when you’re on vacation, indulge in some light beach reading, and make it even handier by utilizing a Kindle.

#7. Do Not Pack an Insufficient Number Of Baby Clothes.

I know it seems strange, but it’s a delicate balancing act. You don’t want your luggage to be too heavy, but you also don’t want to spend your whole vacation washing. And, let’s face it, baby clothing isn’t exactly light!

#8. Do Not Take Full-Size Bottles with You.

When travelling with a baby, you’ll need to bring a lot of liquids (baby shampoo, lotion, dish soap, etc.) in addition to your own necessities. Because so many regular-sized bottles will be too heavy, but all of your liquids are in travel-sized containers instead.

#9. Do Not Pack an Excess of Disposable Items.

Wet wipes, tissues, and plastic bags are likely to be readily available wherever you are going. So just pack as much as you think you’ll need, and know that you can simply pick up more if you run out.
