One of the most often asked inquiries is, “How long can pizza remain in the fridge?” Everyone enjoys a nice pizza night, but sometimes our eyes are more significant than our stomachs, resulting in leftovers. Pizza leftovers are by no means a terrible thing.

Having a couple of pieces of pizza in the fridge means you’ll have another wonderful pizza meal on hand later (or perhaps a late-night snack). If you don’t feel like eating pizza two days in a row, you might be wondering how long it’s safe to keep those leftover pieces in the fridge.

We researched to offer you an answer. Therefore, before you look for authentic Italian Margherita pizza, let’s begin!

How Long Can You Keep A Pizza In the Fridge?

The quick answer to this old topic is that leftover pizza will keep in the refrigerator for three to four days before you need to trash it. This is since the more extended food stays, the more bacteria it accumulates.

That bacteria becomes dangerous to consume after a certain point. It can cause food poisoning or make you feel bad. To get the most out of your leftover slice, remove it off the counter and place it in the fridge within two hours after bringing it home.

    Accurate Temperature for Storing Pizza

The secret to preserving leftover 6 pack pizza or others in the fridge is to ensure your fridge is set to the proper temperature. As per the USA Food and Drug Administration, your fridge should be set to a temperature of less than 40-degree F to get the whole four days out of your remaining slices.

When it is warmer than that, bacteria will develop faster on the pizza, making it dangerous to eat.

Where Can You Keep Leftover Pizza in the Fridge?

Sometimes people are astonished to discover that not all regions of the refrigerator are the same temperature and that some are colder than others. One of the hottest areas, for example, is the refrigerator door.

The top shelves and objects towards the front of the fridge are also warmer. This is since as you open and close the refrigerator, room temperature air enters.

Ways to Store Leftover Pizza in Containers

This is tempting to place the entire pizza box in the fridge after dinner to save dishes and time. However, if you’re wondering, “how long does pizza last in the fridge?” we recommend avoiding this option. To keep your remaining slices fresh for as long as possible, store them in a suitable container.

    Airtight Container

If possible, store your leftover pizza in an airtight container. This will help to delay the growth of bacteria and keep your pizza from being stale. If you don’t have an airtight container, a standard Tupperware will suffice.

However, if you don’t have one large enough to hold your leftovers, there are better options than simply placing the box in the fridge.

    Plastic Wrap

Wrapping your pizza slices in plastic wrap is one technique to help them keep them longer in the fridge. Then, cover them in tinfoil a second time. This provides two protective shields to protect your leftovers.
